“A new artistic intervention is being used to stop foreclosure auctions, effectively halting the machinery wherein the homes of unfairly evicted families are being resold for profit. In 2013, The Joyce Foundation is changing the eligibility requirements for its $50,000 grant to accept applications from all 501 c3 organizations that would like to commission art work from creative agents of color, not just art institutions. The funds will continue to support artists in specific Midwest cities.

Rainforest Action Network (RAN) activists took the “We are the 99%” message straight to Bank of America’s door step (see below). Or, should I say their ATMs. Using special non-adhesive stickers, they transformed the ATM machines into Automatic “Truth-telling Machines”. As a result, their corresponding blog, BankruptingAmerica.tumblr.com, has received heavy traffic and stories from disgruntled customers. I, a (disgruntled) Bank of America customer, plan to shut down my account within the next few months.
